I get strong feelings when I find small creatures and get teary eyed when I get the feeling no one's yet noticed the breathtaking pattern that this particular clover has arranged all by herself. I love seeing life push through where it shouldn’t and have a profound love for the fat pigeons that I hope have never known struggle. I paint what feels real to me and have a deep sense of respect for the complexity of the life that surrounds us, and try my best to do it justice in my interpretations. My name is Carmita Valentina Salgado (CVS lol not like the pharmacy), I was born in Chicago and moved to Ecuador later in life, met the loml, got married, and moved to Spain where we currently live. I went through about 3 years of STEM hell only to realize I’d be significantly happier doing the things I love (who would have thought, ty Tahnja). Now, I have the privilege of sharing my art with a wider audience through the art fairs I attend annually; something I couldn’t do without the endless love and support from my family, who help make all of this possible.
